She leans forward in the chair, her arms crossing and resting on the edge of the desk. A deep shudder launches through her, and she takes that single gasping breath, forcing herself to remain calm. Inside she's screaming...screaming and screaming as she reads...yet she can't stop. She glances to one side, where the second computer should be, knowing it's not there, it and all of the memories held inside are gone. Off to the shop where it will be fixed, purged...she wonders if maybe that's what broke it...the pages and pages. The lies she watched...the heartbreak...screaming agony...if only they could be erased from her mind and soul as easily.
He says he loves her but that he's afraid. Fear is something she knows all too well. She draws him into her arms and just whispers senseless nothings, until the fear goes away. Though it really hasn't gone...just sunk deep into her bones where it can't hurt him. She's too young to feel this old...to hurt so much. Wasn't it yesterday when she ran in fields of wild flowers and played hide and seek with the magpies? She shakes her head slowly, her eyes fastening on the various scars that lace her arms. No, that wasn't her...that was a dream, something from someone else's memories.
She slowly reaches up and turns the computer off retreating into her self...to walk in dreams...
